OLD AGE HOME

A permanent project run by Lions Club Chandigarh Central

The Old age Home, a home for the poor old & destitute persons was managed by the Chandigarh Administration. Because of certain constraints of the working of the administration, the living conditions of the persons were not very good. We approached the government office to give the management of the home to our club. After a few meetings and accessing the working of the club, they agreed to give the management of the home to us. Thus we are running it with effect from 1st April, 1999.  We give below the details of our working. There are 33 residents at present.

We are spending Rs 3.50 lacs over and above the grant in aid of Rs 4.50 lacs from the government.
